The beginning of the finale is kind of like the opening of John Wick 4 where it's like "okay okay sorry, we're dialing it back a bit and giving you what works"
[SEVERANCE SPOILER] apparently some people think that’s Helena and not Helly at the end of the episode but idk man that sounds like some Reddit shit to me. i’m not gonna believe something the show gave me no reason to believe
if it was a book that would be a great ending, Innie Mark kidnapping outtie Mark to stay with Helly but it's Helena because up is down black is white and the innie prefers the lie to the truth
it's looking for a twist when the emotional truth of it—that Helly is in fact selfish enough (non-derogatory) to want to keep her new bf to herself for a short while longer—is much more compelling and resonant
yes, exactly! if it was Helena, Mark would figure it out within 5 minutes of speaking to her, and then where does the story go? nowhere interesting, i reckon
I don't really feel like this show in general is trying to outsmart the viewer; it's not westworld. That kind of twist feels weird and idk what it accomplishes
i feel like the people who are saying otherwise are forgetting that a twist like that has to serve some kind of narrative purpose and idk what purpose it would serve

The whole thing felt dastardly.

very scifi
If it was a finale I would have been disappointed in lack of resolution for some of the characters though. Not Mark/Helly/Gemma but supporting roles
