Anyone have ideas for something I can repurpose into a little free pantry? Something I might find around the house, at a thrift store, etc? An old mailbox or newspaper thing-y came to mind but I don’t have either of those.

I’ve seen file cabinets used for this (and puzzle libraries), also old kitchen cabinets (attached to a post or legs and the glass or wood replaced with plexiglass). If you have the means to get to Community Forklift, something there might spark your imagination.
Community Forklift in Hyattsville has an amazing collection of many low priced items you could turn into a free pantry. Cabinents, furniture, wood, and building supplies. Happy to volunteer to help construct/install.
I will *happily* accept volunteer help!!! Let me see what I find and reach out! If I can manage something lovely maybe we can work on these for others, too.
You’d ideally want something waterproof/weatherproof right? Maybe start posting an ask on some freecycle groups to see if anyone is giving away a small shed or other outdoor cabinet.
