Which goes to show what has been happening in Texas in the last few decades is bc Texans WANTED it.
Abbot, Paxton, Cruz- Texans looked at those men and thought-Yes, he should represent me and my values.

They had the ability to change things, and chose not to.

It happened in rural, suburban, and rural districts. It happened everywhere. Voters threw out entrenched book-banning incumbents, and rejected candidates backed by big money orgs like Patriot Mobile and pro-voucher Texans for Educational Freedom.

SBISD position 7 incumbent winning easily without even campaigning or updating website from 2022 is a datapoint in the other direction. That said, maybe there wasn’t the same level of book banning/curriculum interference on display relative to others
