The Cock Tavern, 1983/4/5 was at the hub of King's X's vibrant squatting community. Those days are passed. Never to return. But how can those who were there ever forget?
Many happy evenings spent at the Hemingford Arms pub quiz back in the day. Cracking boozer. Got beaten by a team featuring Neve Campbell at least once 😱
only two pubs in the whole of east London, one of them a tourist trap that hasn't been decent for a decade and the other is just a bit shit tbh. I'd recommend your editor maybe spend a bit more time off the beaten path in the E numbers :)
The Crown is a strange pick for N19! It’s always subjective but the Landseer Arms, St John's Tavern, the Robin and the Shaftesbury Tavern are all so much better.
The Black Deer is an interesting choice! Not actually in London and somewhat lost in a post war housing estate. Curious as to the arguments for inclusion?
I’m of the (maybe wrong!) belief that everything inside the M25 is London — but the Black Deer looks great inside and out, is really friendly, and yeah, is a bit of an oasis in a desert of suburban housing

Our fave was the Eleanor Arms but he's sadly just sold up recently.
Just the best pub experience, I miss it since I moved out of EC1
The Two Brewers on Roman Way... that's a bold choice
