Disagree. I'm disappointed in @mattyglesias.bsky.social who has a distaste for identity politics (which is fair - he has explained why). His mischaracterization of @jamellebouie.net's article was lazy and unfair, however, and ought to be addressed.

A number of people have said this about Matt, and it is fair for Jamelle to make a point and Matt to respond, but honestly I have followed their contretemps and to waste resources and attention in this way, and not just accept disagreements given the cratering of our republic seems misguided.

I don't really disagree, but

1. This isn't just a disagreement, it's akin to a lie, which is the opposite of why I follow @mattyglesias.bsky.social

2. Infighting is probably best hashed out now instead of closer to the midterm. Political realignment is happening whether we want it or not.
