Yes, we have to wait until the global temperature datasets are finalised, and all the country/city data is made available. Normally takes a month or so.

Maybe the color of coal and oil... a sparkling black? So we have a nice visual link from the problem to it's release.

And: Sparkling and glittering images are a kind of a magic magnet for those, we need to address (stupid greedy politicians).

We adopted your stripes as a 10 x 2 meter wall at the Klima-Daten-Garten in Oldenburg, Germany. And added 2030 and 2050 as interactive elements and used a hint of purple to darken the forecasts.
