I loved a monster calls, saw it at random in cinema and immediately recommended it to everyone, but I can't rewatch it.

Mine is a French duology adapted from 2 books of an author memoir and I always cry at the end of "le château de ma mère" to the point I just watch it or read it when I need a cry

It's la gloire de mon père/le château de ma mère adapted from books of the same name by french author and director Marcel Pagnol. He famously is from the south of France (grew up in Marseille) at the beginning of the XX century and made a lot of b&w movies and books set in the region and culture.

I cannot watch Dumbo. Not a single minute of it. Or the montage from UP. All of Us Strangers was a long, ugly cry. The scene in Peggy Sue when her grandmother calls. The shoelace thing in Jojo Rabbit.
