99% chance he voted for Trump. That’s what veterans do. They have chips on their shoulders, contempt for civilians and won’t stop to help someone change a tire on the side of the road unless their bumper sticker ideologies align.

Uh, no! Currently have a son in the Navy, he did not vote for the convicted felon. We have vets in the family, we despise that creature.
My sons (including my Navy son when home) shovel our neighbors sidewalk without being asked.
So don't come here w "that's what Veterans do" cause that is false
I am surrounded by veterans who did not vote for Trump. That of course is my anecdotal evidence. But we would not have organizations such as Vets for Democrats or Vets for Kamala off odds were 99 percent. The fact that he thought his veteran status protects him is pointing out he might be naive.
The majority of vets have conservative anti-govt views despite being 100% taxpayer funded & they oppose civilian taxpayers getting the same 100% taxpayer work/life benefits.
It’s an insular community that has contempt for civilians who pay their salaries & provide their families with benefits.
I can accept the "majority." I don't have data myself. I am questioning the "99 percent" assertion that this person voted for Trump. It is not a given that just by being a veteran one is a Trump voter. It is a gross generalization to make assumptions like that.
They are a minority. Log onto the Shawn Ryan show on youtube, chk out when he interviews Vets and the comme ts section with Vets responding. They all hate government, love Trump & Republicans. This is how stupid they are. They depend on government & Dems who save their asses funding their shit.
Hold on a sec! My husband served 30 years in the Army and our family (along with many vets/military families) are VERY much opposed to DJT and all his administration represents. Your blanket description of veterans may describe a select few but MANY more are appalled by the direction he’s taking us!
21 years in the military and two combat tours. Voted hard left my whole life. I was raised to lift up those less fortunate. I will stand on the bridge! I will be one of the 300! Would you?
As the person who started this whole mess….
1. I honestly appreciate and honor the service of all veterans.
2. I’m glad to learn so many veterans are liberal.
Now can we please stop telling other posters to F off?
Nothing against you personally, but it’s grotesque that taxpayers provide DoD employees & their families w/ generous work/life benefits that taxpayers themselves will never, ever get.
Because it would hurt recruitment. That’s not a military that supports civilians. It just wants to spend their $$
Generous work/life benefits? Enlisted military barely make a living wage and many have to rely on government help like SNAP, WIC and Medicaid to get by. I served 4 years in the AF and did not make what my counterparts were making in civilian jobs (I was a cop).
Ikr? I straight out told what my experience was, including my gigantic 100% taxable salary of $36K/and not a peep countering any of it. Now whether or not this animus toward us stems from possibly not having served, but there's definitely a broad stroke troll-like feel on the posts addressing vets.
The US Coast Guard saves lives but I do not see any liberal values in the US military. It is a merchant of death & destruction. We don’t have modern infrastructure or basic work/life benefits b/c we need 11 nuclear aircraft carriers that we’ll never use to engage another superpower.
Perhaps you are an anomaly. Since WW2, the US has destroyed every country it has invaded, killed civilians, created millions of refugees and then hung them out to dry.
US spends a fortune on a military it has no use for. Russia is now an ally & China is our most important trading partner.
Trump voter or not, few veterans want taxpaying civilians to get the same work/life benefits that 100% taxpayer funded DoD employees & their families get. In any other country there'd be outrage. In the US, Dems rush to increase military funding & provide raises while giving up on the working class.
Honestly, I don't know what to tell you. Unless you served yourself (or things have drastically changed), you'd find that a lot of us were somewhat jealous of the federal civil service employees - their pay was higher, their time off was usually approved, our time off was usually denied (con't)
or had to be taken at the end of our enlistments, or paid out as a chunk, which like civilian world was taxed at about 40%. We worked 18-20 hour days (especially in the months after 9/11/01), while the civil service employees around me did a mass exodus at 4 PM. I didn't do 20 years (con't)
because I left at 11, and we didn't get more than 1% or 2% raises every year, if there was one at all. Despite getting promoted quickly, my max pay was $36K/year gross, all taxable. However, the freebie I liked was the sense of safety on base even though living off base would have been way better.
But if you were really referring to all federal civil service employees, or only DoD civilian employees, that's another story - some of those jobs (to me, at least) justified the pay they were getting and everything I just wrote would be irrelevant.
Oh, it definitely is - I wonder if the user lives in Virginia, Texas, or Florida where the military population is huge. Virginia alone has the dubious honor of having the largest Naval Base in the world!
Why does the US need so many nuclear aircraft carriers, submarines, planes, missiles and armament when no other enemy has so much as herds of goats?
China is US’s largest trading partner & US would never fight Russia.
It’s a grift and taxpayers are stuck w/ ancient diesel trains .
Also, US military doctrine depends on “power projection” to keep whatever os defined as “peace through strength.” It goes all the way back to the “Great White Fleet” with its roots in the Monroe Doctrine as the foundation of US foreign policy.
Honestly, I hope Trump doesn’t try it, but I’m betting that Trump will probably try to invoke a variation of the Doctrine as he looks to try and expand his pockets and that of his cronies in the name of “America First” once he’s sucked out all he can domestically.
Yep. The Pentagon has about $800B of *unaccounted for* budget that has “gone missing” over the years. Where has it all gone? Into the pockets of politicians and private contractors like Lockheed Martin and Blackwater.
The sole reason why we won’t stop making (and losing) wars all around the world is so that a few rich people can get even richer off our taxpayers’ money. Fuck these ghouls, it’s time to burn the whole thing down.
Unfortunately, based on historical patterns firing up the military industrial complex is one of the tried and true methods of driving Presidential popularity up among Republicans, but the opposite seems to be the case these days because of Trump. There always needs to be an imaginary enemy.
The US doesn’t have universal healthcare, national paid family leave, subsidized child/elder care, U pre-k, school meals, modern infrastructure or public transportation b/c it spends so much on a military that destroys poor counties.
Not your fault, but the military is a financial drain on the US.
Vets vote a slight but distinct majority Republican (60% vs. 38 Dem with a 2% independent is normal). That’s approximately the margins with which white men voted Republican in the last election, so it would be like accusing you of voting Trump just for being a white guy.
Sympathy for his kids.
US doesn’t have universal healthcare, natl paid family leave, U pre-k, subsidized child/elder care, affordable higher education or modern infrastructure b/c so much tax $ goes to the military.
Oh, but DoD employees & their families get those 100% taxpayer funded benefits.
I served 20 years. The majority of recruits come from the Midwest and states that are hard red. They will vote Republican and have those views, but most are still helpful to others. It's getting worse, though, with hard right influences grabbing the younger vote.
There are few if any large scale protests organized by veterans and current service members supporting all federal workers being fired or organizations that make the US and world a better place (NIH, CDC, USAID).
The US military is a taxpayer funded merchant of death that destroys countries, kills civilians and creates refugees. The Coast Guard saves lives. The US military as an organization does not.
Service members can vote Dem while also bombing poor people in poor countries.

Please shut up.
Please consider directing your very justified outrage at constructive rather than counterproductive goals. We need to focus here.

Veterans as a voting block may have voted for him, but not ALL of us.
Demonizing US is not going to solve the trump problem. You'll lose allies with this prejudice bullshit 💩

So much for fighting for all Americans.
Civilians kill people too. And some of them vote Democrat.
FUCK YOUR HATE!
You are obviously on the wrong side of any Anti-Trump movement.
You are an enemy of people like me who work every day to undo oppression.
This reminds me of racists singling out black folks for doing or not doing shit.
Many of us work, support kids, have health and mental health issues, struggle with homelessness, substance abuse, being old.
Servicemembers are not able to protest in uniform.
Service members can vote Dem while also bombing poor people in poor countries.
The problem aren't the people, that voted, not even the crazy Magats
They used their right to vote
It's about the 100 mill, that didn't vote
Fully knowing, what's gonna happen
They are the real traitors.
Because they enabled this the 2nd time in 9 yrs
Misogyny decided
