While its flaws are myriad, the regular criminal justice system, largely traditionally walled off from the dog and pony "safe communities" immigration enforcement nonsense now being literally paraded for television, treats tattoos as *possible* indicia but in no way serves as gang validation. 1/

Confirming level of association with a gang in reg crim law is a lot more nuanced than this initiative's basis on garbage in garbage out "criminal intelligence" of a logic, yes, very similar to some of GWOT's most egregious abuses in "bad guy finding." 2/2
