She goes on to suggest maybe it's state schools that are rubbish. "I don't know what doesn't happen around the country."

NB Coffey served as Health Secretary & Work and Pensions Secretary for several years. It was her job to know if this sort of glaring inequality of opportunity was going on. ~AA

Labour once had an effective "Rapid Rebuttal Unit" that responded to events & got media messages across, effectively. As global collective amnesia now seems to be a major issue, wouldn't it be useful to have such a unit to actively remind people of previous horrors, & nail any success as they occur?

State schools can be a post code lottery. Sometimes long standing poor council investment, sometimes the wrong leaders, sometimes in rural areas, a lack of suitable teachers. But clearly there should be solid SEND support, even for those hanging onto historic Grammar school status.

Indeed she was one of the worst of the tories rolled into one. A person who exuded a dead eyed, uncaring, mendacious, mundane cruelty. We were only saved from large scale damage due to her colossal incompetence and lack of interest in any of her briefs. The ultimate computer says no person.
