In that entire debate yesterday, only one MP made a cheap political point - trying to link winter fuel payments with assisted dying. But he's new and it was an intervention, so I didn't know him or what right-wing party he's from.
Well, meet Adnan Hussain - one of Corbyn's 'Independent Alliance'. 😶

Wrong place, wrong time.
That’s shocking.
Stooping so low there he may as well have pursed his lips for the shoes of the Tories or dare I say it Reform UK.
Cheap shots make politics more sleazy.

Makes 30p Lee look smart.
And Lee is dense enough to bend light.
It’s my feeling the independent MP is inexperienced and thought he had a point to make, I’m not sure how it reflects on Corbyn.
Jenrick had no such excuse for that appalling & embarrassing display.
The debate needed to be kept entirely free of political point-scoring.
And yesterday was no moment for grandstanding in any way.
Lack of means to live a decent life may well impact a "choice" to end it.
It's that absent food, warmth, shelter etc people will choose to end their lives who would not if society provided them with conditions to live a decent life. Like the argument about ensuring decent palliative care, social justice more broadly needs to be part of the discussion.
• Every vote passes or fails on its merit.
• No intimidation or coercion to vote against what an MP believes is in the interests of those they represent.
• Maybe even respectful debate without ad hominem.
We know it’s possible - they’ve just shown us.
Aren’t they supposed to enact what the commons has decided will be law?
If all the planning happens before the debate/vote and the vote then fails, isn’t that a waste/misuse of resources?
There are far more people who aren't large donors.
