We're clearly in a far worse position on tariffs, we can't defend ourselves as we're not in a trade bloc. The EU are far safer as they can retaliate and disincentivize US tariffs. For now sucking up to Trump has only avoided some tariff threats, but not others. And how long will appeasement work?
