Remember this? Paris is getting a whole new Metro network. It’s huge. And built fast.
“The venerable #Paris Métro is about to get its most significant upgrade in decades with the arrival of the Grand Paris Express, a new 200km system with 4 new lines & 68 new stations.” https://www.cnn.com/travel/paris-new-metro-network/index.html

Had it been done at grade it likely would of been done by now.
But yes, it's crowded at peak hour. That's also why we need more people on bikes.

May be.
All I m trying to say is that Grand Paris is a very big thing, with very bad and very good stuff to say about.
Not something to envy or admire blindly.
US doesn’t know how to do infrastructure.
Again it's a silly comparison.
There are legitimate criticisms but they won't be found by asking repeatedly "why aren't we europe?".
We are not europe. We don't build lots of passenger rail and don't know how to do it cheaply. We don't have the tools in place, the expertise, the local industry, etc. Takes time to develop that.
Unfortunate truth is we are in a habit of using our cars and most won't change.
Each station’s district map is anchored in content and in form with the neighborhood.
Nothing personal to you.
