I commend rerun for maintaining their professionalism in expressing only disappointment in what I’m sure is infuriating circumstances

This is exactly what Iditarod needs in up-and-coming mushers to survive and thrive in the future.
Justin is far less angry than I think I'd be (and than most people would be).
I haven't met him, but he Impresses me as a musher & human.
If I were part of the Committee, that narrative would make me feel very small. And I'd apologize profusely.
From Dorothy herself:
Sounds like this might become applicable.
“…The race judge seemed annoyed with my plan to rest 5-6 hours...Walking into the school (checkpoint) I found all the lights off, signs down, and could not get hot water from the sink as before. The sentiment was clear - I wasn't welcome anymore.”
Gets annoyed at competitors expecting resources they are promised.

Whether it's intentional or not, this is the optic.
at the same time, the subtext here isn't very damn sub: they wanted him to take himself out of the race, so it looked personal & voluntary. Disgusting behavior on the part of the organizers! The very OPPOSITE of sportsman-like behavior.
