You do understand that paragraph quoted is not what Tallamy believes or promotes? Please read it again. It is a description of an historical world-view that got us where we are today. Kimmerer’s “elegant vision” — at least that paragraph— ignores all living things other than people and plants.

2) This is how Tallamy sees history. It is how he chooses to describe it. He is making rhetorical choices to pick what matters & what doesn't, who has agency & who doesn't. That reflects biases.
