“Any casual observer of the Supreme Court can see what many prestigious constitutional lawyers can’t, which is that the conservative justices are frequently accomplices to Trump’s assault on democracy,” writes Adam Serwer.

Why does Serwer think that “prestigious constitutional lawyers” can’t see what “any casual observer” can't?
I assume that he includes himself in the “casual observer” group that is so much more cognizant and savvy about the Court and the justices than constitutional lawyers are?
The same can be said about the fbi, the minute they showed a little independence, one party turned on them and chased the the independents out of there. You would think all these legal eagles weren’t so naive.
Can someone please tell me why smart writers keep calling them "conservative justices" when their "presidential immunity" and "unitary executive" decisions plainly show them to be *activists* seeking a massive, fundamental transformation of our constitutional republic?
All can email the Court’s general mailbox with @resist.bot. Apply whatever pressure possible like we ask Democrats in Congress to do as the minority party:
The gut punch the American ppl are taking is heartbreaking.
We know we are on the right side of the rule of law and human rights.
This is getting really old.
I know that history is full of American rebellion.
We need that now.
Who will be the strong moral 🌟 of the show?
They strongly believe in unitary executive power…Unless it’s a Dem president forgiving student loans or prioritizing how to enforce immigration. Then congress is supreme and an executive has their hands tied. Oh, and major questions doctrine can’t apply to Repub prez killing agencies
Great read - need more chronicling of Robert's complicity. Great to see him/SCOTUS stand up for the federal judges being attacked for doing their job. Shame on them for their silence & capitulation.
Also - where is W. Bush? Guess he got to start his war and duck out. F*ck the GOP.
People on the inside are almost never the best narrators of what is really happening. That applies to a lot of institutions, government and the private sector.
I only disagree in the use of frequently. Except for Doge and 47 s serious loss today Scotus is 47 s greatest enabler.
I would luv to have Justice Robert's explain to those of us who are sane exactly where I can find in the Constitution our Founders explanation of immunity and his courts decision
Don’t forget that Brett Kavanaugh and Amy Coney Barrett were on the legal team at law firm Baker Botts, which defended Bush for the Bush v. Gore case. John Roberts also counseled Bush on the case, although I don’t know if he was part of the same law firm or not…
So there you have it: Three SCOTUS justices who were part of the Bush election scheme. I can’t imagine they didn’t know what was going on—which explains why they are so supportive of Trump and the GOP: They are guilty, too. This scheme has been going on for some time—no wonder Trump is grateful.
Do they not realize their services will no longer be required if the US democracy fails? No pensions, no jobs, no honors and most importantly, no more graft.
Thoroughly preposterous how men that have devoted their lives to the study of the Constitution stand idly while it is stripped for parts. People with only a passing understanding of the law fully grasp this.
This branch of government has lost its guiding principles. As with the other two, financial interests have pushed ideologies so far out they are unrecognizable to the average person.
The Supreme Court is primarily full of unethical judges and liars, and apparently, some also support the pro-nazi movement that is growing within the US.

but FUCK THIS GUY.
They throw us a bone every now and then but they clearly paved the way with gold bricks to bring in Trump and take down democracy!

Right in his pocket.
That should have been 9-0, and turned around in one day.
its a promotion that might also come with enslaved people as a bonus
If he had, the comments would have been much different.
Snyder v United States is case in point.
