"Silicon Valley, it seems, is coming to Jesus," writes Elizabeth Bruenig. "Christianity is about moving fast and breaking things, but not in the direction the tech Christians seem to have in mind":

Christianity R&D is much less expensive than the previous engineering methods. Rather than solving things ‘scientifically’ they believe in magic and prayers to solve problems.
If you break something … “Just pray on it”
I figured it'd be something like that. I followed Bruenig for a long time on the old site, until Dobbs happened and I realized she has nothing worthwhile to say in the present moment
I say this as a Christian for nearly 40 years, with a ministry degree and a few ministry resume entries under my belt, who's journeyed through several different denominations and Christian belief systems: how in the world is Christianity "about moving fast and breaking things?"
I see little real world indications that Christianity is what the author of this article describes. In America at least, it mostly seems to be a worship of authoritarianism. If it does promote "prosocial ethics", I'd like to see more evidence of that in the world. Mostly I see a lot of judgement.
There are very few real Christians. They are not not trying to oppress and steal from the masses. They are humbly feeding the hungry, caring for the sick and sheltering the homeless. They are not Trump supprters.
They haven’t found anything other than a route to rule that stems from their ownership of wealth and power. Religion is just a useful tool to establish that rule.
What Trump sycophant at this outlet is writing this cotton candy shit instead of REPORTING information the audience needs in this critical time of global unrest? Do better.
"Christianity is about moving fast and breaking things"...yeah, but more like it's about selling everything you have and giving the money to the poor. So, when will Silicon Valley be doing that?
These digital disciples seem to have missed Christianity's central message about the dangers of wealth and power while embracing a curiously selective reading that sanctifies their existing privileges. The camel through the needle's eye now comes with venture.

"The Silicon Valley Christians Who Want to Build ‘Heaven on Earth’"
Jesus deconstructed the world on Good Friday and Christians believe that there is a new world with Easter. Read your Bible.
