I've had 2 minds on this because of course we know, after playing for a while, that players will always end up going a different way than you anticipated
BUT I can't lie, it is Hella frustrating when ya get players that make it their mission to be as WaCkY or Lulz Random as possible when playing

I've made a point before that a good part of the overall reason for the dm drought is how players treat people who run games
I've had quite a few folks feel that they cna do wacky shenanigans to an extreme that I find detrimental and they learn. Being goofy is OK on occasion
For example, a Wizard with an 11 in Intelligence, and specialized in throwing alchemist fire.
1) how to reference rules/how to arbitrate rules discussions or concerns
&
2) How to improv
Players will throw you for a loop and learning how to go in stride is Important of course
Sometimes players are brilliant and sidestep an issue and you need to know when to reward
