Inside the shipping box to the top right was a bag of five blank unused Nintendo 64DD Development Disks. Inside the bag and above the Dev Kit box itself was a collection of labeling stickers.

Nintendo 64DD Development Disks are blue unlike the retail games released in Japan that were grey.

Inside a bag to the right of the box was a Nintendo 64 cartridge. The cart itself was used in combination with some included adapters. (Note: This cart uses different screws than what was used in retail.)

This is one of the two included adapters. It's labeled as 'N64JOINT-01'. It's a joint connector to attach another adapter onto the top cartridge slot of a Nintendo 64.

This is the second of the two included adapters. It's labeled as 'NUS DCC-00'. It connects directly to the joint adapter and allows a developer to insert two N64 cartridges directly into a single Nintendo 64 at the same time.

How were the cartridges mapped into memory? What exactly is on the special cartridge (Debugging tools? Some sort of BIOS?)

I love how much effort went into the packaging design for something that was just for developers. They could have just shipped it in a grey box with label.
