This stuff drains me too.
I left a not-great in-person D&D Game years ago after an entire session in a magic item shop where there were useful things but nobody could individually afford one and the group couldn't agree to club together.

sometimes i think i miss my group's pathfinder games and wanna get back into doing it. but then i remember the 2-4 hour long sessions of inventory and currency accounting that, for whatever reason, could not wait until the end of the session. yearning broken.

I usually play with people who don't care about stuff like that and will help each other out all the time.
I have to say I've been lucky, I left that game and I can't remember another time something like that has happened outside my teens.
I usually play with people who would give you their character's signature item if it would turn out interesting/funny/if you asked
