After reports circulated Wednesday night of the State Department's intent to purchase Tesla vehicles, the document was edited, at 9:12 p.m., and now says the federal contract is for $400 million worth of "armored electric vehicles," but the word "Tesla" was removed.

Where would these $400m worth of cybertrucks be deployed? Cybertrucks are only useful in geographies with significant charging infrastructure.

Nothing better than military vehicles whose logistics chain includes batteries built in Musk's Chinese factory. Also a military contract would include a rather large number of spare parts for maintenance and repair, and Tesla owners are waiting a long time for those.

Seems like President Leon (sic) found something that needed fixing and he fixed it. I mean, by removing the Tesla name he removed the conflict of interest. Of course, if you follow the money you might find corruption abounding. I think he needs to go to Mars. And stay there.
