I left Reddit after the elections to not have to look at the gloating MAGA but I had taken a screenshot of this fabulous reply to a topic in a sub before the elections.
I was just journaling on this the other day - the church I grew up in spent time chastising the Pharisees and Scribes for ignoring the suffering servant messiah that came in favor of of a king they demanded, and when he wasn’t to their liking the chanted “Give us Barabbus!” Instead.
I’m currently participating in a Bible Study where we’re studying Matthew. In last week’s lesson, Jesus describes his heart as “gentle,” and I challenged the group that if I asked for characteristics of a strong leader, would gentle even be on their list. I got a lot of big eyes and silent stares.
