The episode is overhated mainly because it smashes previous Simpsons continuity. But that's something that was probably necessary given the sheer length of the show's runtime up to this point. Either way, it's typical bland modern Simpsons

I remember the episode came up on Twitter awhile back and I told Matt Selman I would review it. But then chickened out because I didn't want confront my extremely bitter feelings about it at the time. So this video is like me trying to find some catharsis with this thing 🤣

It's kind of got a Principal and the Pauper situation going on. If it weren't for the abandonment of continuity, nobody would bat an eye at it. But at the same time, it's frankly not a great episode in its own right and it's more insulting than P&P.

Honestly I don’t hate it, never even knew it was hated that badly. Episodes like these are better seen in a vacuum.

That aside I found the jokes funny, it’s good for a nostalgic treat.
