By far and away the best of the prequels (which isn’t saying much). The set up scene at the opera with Anakin and Palpatine is great, but is ruined by his actual turn to the dark side and “christening” as Vader that is laughably unconvincing. If only George hadn’t spent 9 years surrounded by yes men

The most generally coherent story of the prequels, with a genuinely shocking moment of all encompassing villainy (child massacre) that’s lacking in the sequel trilogy.

Still a poorly made film due to the over use of clanging cgi but I’ve watching it again and my opinion is the same: it’s fine.

Recently rewatched the prequel trilogy and they've aged like milk sadly.

As an aside, are there any franchises which have done the prequel/backfilling of information and it's actually benefitted...well, anyone? Other than maybe the studios bank balance.

Here is the thing about the prequels. They look like crap, and even if Revenge of The Sith looks way better than the other two, it was still made with a technology that just wasn't ready. Every scene, practically speaking every shot, takes you out of the story.

Or being a little more serious - like the other prequel films, the story idea is excellent and continues to remain worryingly relevant, but it's the execution that is sorely lacking.
