As someone who's looking to build a new PC very soon, I'm kind of flabbergasted that AMD did their CES presentation without announcing new graphics cards. We know they're coming, but with Nvidia announcing the 5000 series later today, why would you just surrender like this? - ThreadSky

I haven't decided what I'm going to, which is why I'm interested in seeing what's going to be available from all the players. I think Nvidia is likely, simply because it's the "default setting" for GPUs these days. I'd be interested in the new ones, or possibly a 4xxx if prices get pushed down.

I haven't (my current machine is Skylake-era hardware from 2016), but I watched a bunch of it on Twitch when it was the new hotness (before Sony kneecapped it with the PSN requirement). It looks like a ball. I suspect it would've won GotY without the Sony controversy.

Big announcements get drowned out in the noise of everything happening at CES. AMD can afford to run their own press event after everyone’s had some time to recover. That way they’ll get front page headlines on tech blogs instead of being somewhere in a list of show notes.

Makes sense, but they did a whole event today with CPU announcements anyway. Everyone was expecting GPU announcements too.

Could be the GPUs aren’t ready yet… or maybe they didn’t want to get upstaged by nvidia on the same day.
