Great interview, thanks. Joyland is an underrated book, imho. It's such a profound reflexion on loss, grief and acceptance. I love it so.

I still like it.

Unless we are talking about super-specialised fields, I think it's a boon to have people who are colleagues talk about their work like this.

For me that is especially true for writers, if they can leave their ego out on the lawn with the African Spurred Tortoise for long enough.

Danse Macabre is _amazing_. I also read it as a teenager, recommended by one of those fringe (i.e., best) English teachers in the same manner as a hallway pot dealer: "Dude! You need to TRY this!"

There are things in there, things King explains, that are just as scary as the books and movies he discusses.
