I once asked her if she wanted white or dark chocolate, and she said "you said OR not XOR." So, she got both.

Hahahaha brilliant! Also sounds like the opposite of me. Maybe she could get more interested if she explores stuff that has hidden math. Games like Nim, fractals, recreative math, etc. The kind of stuff that's shown in youtube channels like Numberphile.

Anyway, whatever makes her happy!

It's a very weird situation! She picked up decimal notation in an afternoon. She's advancing in high school algebra with minimal effort. But, just not super interested - she's more into arts/performance. She does enjoy numberphile and sometimes talking about math ideas, but *shrug*

My personal view is it's been excellent for building her sense of self as a smart, capable kid. So, I keep nudging it along, but not giving into my nerd parent impulse to insist on going at top speed. As it is, she'll be ahead of me before long, and then no idea what to do.
