One trend I see in story-based podcasts is the evolution from one episode subjects to "this month we're talking about..." I think it means you're getting better at all of it!

it's a hard listen in a world full of news about fascists in our present day, but i think there may be some comfort in hearing the stories of the ones whose stories are already over because they lost

You also have a very soothing way of talking about it. You don't diminish how awful these guys are, or the damage they've done, but you are good at putting the pieces together and pointing out the sheer absurdity of their nonsense.

*(~28 minutes in) I think you underestimate the TAMU history dept willingness to platform David Irving. There were a few professors into 2008 that unironically refered to the civil war as Northern Aggression, and at least one was a holocaust denier in early 2000s. I wish I remembered names

I really love your tangents--the terrible ones are useful and illustrative, but I've been carrying the tangents about the gay bar and the history of workplace affinity groups around in my heart these past weeks, a few of the little candles against despair 💜
