You could always kind of tell by his "humor" that he's pretty similar to the reactionary portion of reddit during GamerGate, except he used to try and hide it.

I don't think it was a slow slide, just that he slowly made more public statements that showed what he has believed for a while.

"Children with leukemia" are people you aren't allowed to criticize, and it's abundantly clear that they don't rule over anyone. It's explicitly refuting the neo-Nazi quote.
