A reminder that the self-inflicted pain to the US far exceeds any pain we would inflict via counter tariffs.
We should push back, but I'd emphasize:
1) make sure they know the pain they're self inflicting.
2) non tariff (and non trade) measures
3) some smart counter tariffs are fine.
