Attended the #POMS2025 conference and I wanted to say it was AWESOME sharing the Hyatt with so many #FWA2025 attendees. You all brought so much love and joy to Atlanta...really helped make this a delightful experience. π

I was really tempted to see if it was ok to ask what companies attendees from poms were... I almost bet I would have known someone there. I do data science for one of those mega corps.
Craig, so glad you enjoyed your time there sharing space with us. Hopefully you had as much of a blast as we had. 'till our paths cross again (if it ever happens XD) -antares
I'm pretty sure you all had more fun than we did π but we appreciated some of your joy rubbing off as we cohabitated the hotel. Be well and safe travels!
Omg itβs me the guy in pink it was wonderful to share conferences with you guys. Thanks for dealing with all our shenanigans and letting us shake up Atlanta for a weekend!!
I remember seeing you take this picture despite being very overheated on the couch, I am glad you had a good time! I remember seeing a big grin on your face right before you took it.
Ha! Yep...the scene was a mix of joy as folks continued romping around in suits, despite obvious exhaustion, and sadness as they said their goodbyes at the end of the meet. I could feel the bittersweet vibe and it seemed like it deserved documentation from an outsider's perspective.
I'm glad we were able to make your weekend while you were at your conference. I hope you have a great rest of your week! Fingers crossed you encounter another fun con like ours in the future π
Well i know from a friend local to the area they're should be dragon con happening sometime in a few months. It's not furry specific but more pop culture, with lots of cosplayers, and the occasional fursuiter too.
Maybe if you have another conference you can nudge them to have it around then π
Hah! Not a chance. Was talking with a waitress at the Hyatt and she said "If you think this is kinda wild, you should experience DragonCon. So crowded you can't even see the floor." π
Having your con running with ours settled us down from the frustration of how ours was managed during the weekend. Your con actually threw me off a bit at first but we managed to get it to work. Not sure if you personally saw me & my BIG blue tail but it was fun.
I've not heard of EOS before, but 30 seconds of reading about it suggests it's probably more of a management topic than what our group focuses on (operations). So folks who attend the Academy of Management meetings probably know of it better.
The Production & Operations Management Society -- basically a bunch of business professors (and their PhD students) who do research on how to make systems and organizations more efficient, effective, fair, responsive, etc.
Great to hear that you had a fun time, Craig. We really appreciate the good spirits and patience that your fellow attendees had! (Also as an academic, I've had the thought more than once during someone else's conference that's along the lines of "Huh, this is what we look like from the outside")
That is hilarious! Rarely do we get an objective view at ourselves, so us hurrying from session to session with our briefcases and bags and little lanyards and hushed conversations with students during breaks must look absurd to anyone not on the inside.
You POMS folks were so nice and chill! It was a pleasure sharing the hotel with you all! Sometimes I wonder if it would be possible to have impromtu panels from conventions we share spaces with (and vice versa). I'm sure we could learn something from you all.
We often put up with people grouchy about us going about having fun, but I found the #POM2025 attendees tolerant and willing to put up with us packing elevators. That means y'all rock!
Full disclosure: Sharing an elevator with you all was great because I got to ask nosy questions sometimes (like "Are those suits as sweaty as they look?" A: YES!!)

I hope you all expanded your knowledge of production and operational management and had fun too!

But I was curious if you know about EOS, and if you think it's a valid business model for employee productivity. :>

Either way, I'm glad our community made a good impression!
That actually sounds like a fun organization to be apart of!
Have a great summer! :-)
