The "open borders" bit is bilge too - obviously there was no unlimited right for anyone to come and live in the UK, otherwise we wouldn't have had North Sea deaths, immigration detention, migrant barges etc etc.

Lovely to hear from the Prime Minister that the historical policies which allowed my Mum to remain in the UK after studying here, thus enabling my existence, was a “squalid experiment in open borders”.
