That’s the free market correcting itself, but today the corporations just increase prices then keep the prices there. Hence why they’re making such profits.
There’s this, though🔽
I think profits are not
accruing in a sustainable
way in the West.
The center of growth is
slipping from the control
of the people who’ve
had it for so long. Now
they’re acting like
evil, enraged infants.
Interesting. China creates though. Has a manufacturing base. America not so much. Seems unsustainable for America to continue on this track economically for workers. But the owners are doing great - so that’s all that matters. I guess.
Lol 😆 🤣 😂 😹. The definition of rich is defined yearly by the establishment. Therefore , having a few millions of dollars by your name doesn't necessarily permit you to be even an acquaintance to the elite wealthy club .
TBH I believe the milei government will not be reelected.
But the left there, as it is here in Brazil, has lost the people. So, they either make a coalition with the centre (just like here), or most probably, the hard right will win.
Yes, I also find that strange, but I believe it has to do with some shared values and a feeling of lack of dignity and being looked down upon by the leftist Ivy League elite
Marx and Lenin were highly educated, and that never seemed to be a problem that were addressed in this way.
The working class supports those who seem willing to help them the most.
No definitely not, but education can make you more detached from the working class. I believe the working class would be better served by actual working-class politicians. As a species, we're generally too selfish to act in the interest of groups other than our own.
It's terrifying how common it is. So many working people who fought tooth and nail to liberate themselves from Tsarist rule turned around and defended corrupt Bolshevik officials living it up in former Tsaris noble estates. "They eventually remember nothing", it's such an apt way to put it.
Reminds me of Emma Lazarus's Georgist poem PROGRESS AND POVERTY:
Oh splendid age when Science lights her lamp
At the brief lightning's momentary flame.
Fixing it steadfast as a star, man's name
Upon the very brow of heaven to stamp,
Launched on a ship whose iron-cuirassed sides
Mock storm and wave.
Humanity sails free;
Gayly upon a vast untraveled sea,
O'er pathless wastes, to ports undreamed she rides.
Richer than Cleopatra's barge of gold,
This vessel, manned by demi-gods, with freight
Of priceless marvels.
But where yawns the hold
In that deep, reeking hell, what slaves be they
Who feed the ravenous monster, pant and sweat,
Nor know if overhead reign night and day?
You should listen to the blue-collar & lower white-collar workers. They mostly view those in the upper room as the Leftist Ivy League Elite because they feel they look down on them and despise their values.
But maybe it's not so strange that the elites are ignoring it. The 19th-century bourgeoisie didn't acknowledge the poor had any valid reasons for criticizing them. Why would we expect their modern descendants would?
Capitalism has proven unable to create an “ever-more-comfortable life” for everyone in spite of its unstoppable drive for profit and growth, but still there is no significant opposition to the system as a whole and its way of life.
Poor Bashing. Don’t forget poor bashing. One of Government’s most powerful tool.
So many (of us) look down on the poor with little to no knowledge of their circumstances.
Marx's idea, while good in theory, simply led to a redistribution of wealth from the richest men in Russia to those who were jealous they were not the richest men in Russia.
Not completely, but neither was Einstein. Marx had a good start for the Germany of his time, Einstein said the universal constant was the biggest blunder of his career. Times have changed and we've learned new things. While we shouldn't ignore old ideas we should also study where they've gone since.
Only about some things. Communism as a pure system cannot work, as long as greed, the same greed that skews all systems, is part of being human. The US bankrupted the CCCP. Russia had little business sense. Propaganda, yes. The trick is to get ahead of the capitalist, whomever. AI? perhaps.
Communism isn't even supposed to be a SYSTEM. It's like egalitarianism or pragmatism. It's a set of operating principles that is said to be better than the alternative, IF you can get most people to implement it.
"Communism as a political system" is like "Microsoft Excel as a business plan."
It has less to do with greed and more to do with rigid hierarchy. As long as there are these rigid hierarchical structures to take advantage then greed is allowed to take center stage which is why I argee with a few anarchist ideas
No system can be pure as there will be people who try to take power in any form of governance. Arguing against a system because the pure form of it is not possible is a bad faith argument, as no system in its purest form will ever be possible.
I cannot agree. Communism as a total government wide system always fails. I'm not saying that some political systems can't have inclusions. Capitalism has lots of socialism. And capitalism is full of flaws that need fixing.
I'm so tired of preachy Marxists. Thought experiment... do the leaders of a communist country get better treatment than the laborers, despite contributing nothing in terms of production? History invariably points to "Yes". Horseshoe theory is real, and those in denial have something to lose.
All the billionaires need to take heed once the people start to sharpen their pitchforks and come looking. The people will only put up with being taken advantage of for so long then all hell breaks loose just like the French revolution when all the aristocracy and the very rich lost their heads.

“He who rides the tiger dares not dismount.”
For our part:
“In crisis resides opportunity.”
🈸
Without it, the system enters in crisis.

And when I say hard, I mean it.
But Lula is reluctant to address our political problems that led to Bolsonaro: the unruly military and the unaccountable congress.

Rich people exist.
They always have and always will.
If you want a functioning society, you need them.
I'll change my mind once someone shows me a working alternative.

It is hard to accept, so the elite ignore this.
inequality, the political power of the wealthy, tax evasion/elusion, tax the rich.

Also Marx wasn’t an antisemite or a racist.
You’ve never actually read Marx. It shows.
Even the revisionists know. https://jacobin.com/2022/05/marx-race-antisemitism-history-andrew-sullivan-enlightenment

greed needs to be punished, instead of being unrewarded.
meanwhile altruism needs to be rewarded, instead of simply being unpunished.
it's capitals constant reward of greed that has taken us to these extremes.
aside: a large enough population below can easily flip the table on the dozen or so above.
