I tried watching Harry Potter as an escape in 2016. It worked until the Min of Magic took over Hogwarts and the students started a resistance movement, then it was too close to reality. It would be worse now.

The thing about Idiocracy is that President Camacho truly cared for his people. He delegated decisions to what he believed were experts, he didn't think he had all the answers. He took advice and tried to help. He wasn't ego-driven or profit-driven.

What we have now is *worse* than Idiocracy.
