A friend of mine once described academia as a mental illness accelerator and I tell you what she wasn't wrong.

That sums it up. That's it exactly. I feel like a spotlight has been shone on my swiss cheese brain

Tbh this is probably the best things are gonna get so doing it now isn't a terrible idea
