I watched the first episode of ADOLESCENCE (Netflix) last night and thought it was excellent. I don’t really want to say anything else, because I went in knowing nothing and was about 5 minutes in when I realized what they were doing. But the storytelling device they use is no gimmick; very cool!

Many LA folks have never been to or even heard of Gardena, but they’re missing out on some amazing restaurants. Sweet Rice is the best Thai in the South Bay and makes. Truly one of the best Thai dishes I’ve ever had! Their sister restaurant, Bowl Thai, is killer too. Both are worth the drive.

I’ve always been active but have never liked working out (like at the gym). But that all changed when I got a rowing machine. I love it! 30 minutes and I get a great full-body workout. Plus, I can listen to music while I do it or just disassociate from reality. Very meditative!

“How To Be Perfect” by @kentremendous.bsky.social is a hilarious and accessible primer on ethics. The book was so good and so inspirational, I read it twice. Thinking deeply about morality feels more important now than ever before. “Try; fail. Try again; fail better.” are words I try to live by.

I didn’t post this morning, because I was up at 5AM to take my kids skiing. We got our tenth day in this season - not nearly as good as last year - but considering that I tore my Achilles in mid-July, WAY better than I expected. Love riding the chairlift with my kids. No screens, just us talking.

After being laid off by ESPN in the fall, Zach Lowe is joining The Ringer. Lowe is my favorite #NBA writer by a wide margin. He eschews hot takes in favor of statistical analysis and nuance, and every time he writes a piece, I learn something. He’s also, by all accounts, a nice human with integrity.
