Stagflation has happened before but like only once. I don't know fetails It's the worst of economic situations because it's very hard for the fed to control.

In a recession the fed decreases interest rate.
With inflation you increase interest rates.

When you have both you're fucked.

Not on such things like steel. It's like a check valve because the price only goes up, never down. It's up more than 60 percent since 2019. Now we get to deal with double tariffs on the commodity. Living the American dream.

The term is stagflation. Prices go up but demand goes down. So workers get laid off and prices rise while the currency value sinks. You can actually make considerable money off of it by investing heavily in foreign stable currency, but it’ll still hurt badly.
