Just to be clear: I do understand that MLK day and Inauguration Day are typically on different days for a long time now. I am simply bummed that MLK day is supposed to a day of service and giving back to your community and how that is a stark contrast to the π's values.
Inauguration Day is always on Jan. 20th (unless the 20th is a Sunday, then it's held on Jan 21st) and MLK Day is always celebrated on the third Monday in January.
I see it as just the opposite. It's a sign that we should embrace his values, his methods for resisting authoritarian tendencies while maintaining moral authority and dignity. It's the universe begging us to follow in his footsteps, to unite.

What you're rightly angry with is the multiple felon who is an absolute affront to all that MLK hoped to inspire not where he belongs, in prison.
