are you sure it's through bridgy? it never says that in the blog. the blog even points out that the old way, using bluesky, gives you a "weird" username

I think the new way just changes that you don't need to follow the bridge account yourself (which is kinda unintuitive), but just need the check one checkbox [ ] and it does it for you

also i'm guessing they'd find that "dodgy" to some extent. they have no real control over whtwnd, but at least on activitypub they host their Ghost users' accounts, and it's up to other services to be following that activitypub profile?

No that's not true. Whtwnd is a lexicon so the schema cannot change other than by adding optional fields. Even if whtwnd dies the lexicon is still there. It isn't tied to whtwnd at all.

Looks like you need to do any kind of interaction with a Threads-native account in order to show up there (which Ghost will now do for you too)
