E-bikes are about accessibility and mobility. With my old injuries I couldn't tackle this hill without one. It has opened up every route around my hometown of Shrewsbury ❤️⚡🚲

Perfectly worded. I am with you. Ruptured my right quad slipping on ice. The leg has never been quite right and never will be. Now in my 60s the ebike levels all Omaha's hills. Keeps my knee flexion happy. And keeps me happy too. https://youtube.com/@pedalingpast60?si=4xIo8uT8sfJVs6jl
I'd forgotten about the hills in Shrewsbury. I spent some time there in the summer of 1984 while I was working on the archeological excavation at Wroxeter. It was a combination bike tour and work holiday.
My E-Cargo bike lets me do everything I used to do on a regular bike in flat east London in really quite hilly Stroud, it's excellent I got my bike riding life bike just like that!
I just switched to barefoot shoes this summer. I love Vivobarefoot and went a little crazy on how many I got. I’ve had a bad lower back my whole life and barefoot shoes and a vibration pad have almost cured me this year!
Michael, congratulations! I genuinely hope these shoes bring you both good health and enjoyment. My extensive experience with Vivobarefoot over the past decade has been incredibly rewarding.
Different ebikes have different power levels. My first ebike still took some effort to get up hills, even on the highest assist levels. But I upgraded to one with a more powerful motor
Sometimes accessibility is simply about arriving clean. I had an 8 mile bike ride to work. If I ride an acoustic, I'm all sweaty and disgusting. If I ride a citibike e-bike, no sweat!
This is as much about pace, as anything else, I got a sit up town bike with a massive front rack rode in, in street clothes and added 10 minutes extra to my time, no sweating but also no need to shower at the other end so overall time about the same. Ebikes allow you this as well!
