I just got my tetanus re-up, and my cervical screening and mammogram were clean so I’ve got some breathing. But now that you mention it I’m due for a Covid booster in a month or two
You can get a titer test to check for antibody levels and which vaccines you’d need. Measles was fine for me (got that vaccine when I was younger), but mumps or rubella (can’t remember) I got another shot for!
Thanks for this. I just scheduled a Pneumonia shot for this afternoon and "Titer" on the list to choose from and I was like "What the heck is that for?"
I live in France, and when I hit a certain age, those people told me I had to top up my diphtheria, polio, and tetanus. In the US, there aren't any recommended boosters for grown people.
I’m an adult in the US with Kaiser, and I get messages for recommended boosters all the time. Covid, flu, shingles, DTAP, MMR are all listed. Maybe Kaiser is just better?
It should be universally recommended. It wasn't the case before in the US, and going forward it most definitely won't be. (I had decent insurance in the US, I still had to, on my own initiative, go to the Health Department to check booster schedules).
Agreed. I would know / never remember to do anything if Kaiser didn’t damned near harass me.
Same for the kids’ boosters, etc. We are very lucky, for now. I assume being in CA + having Kaiser will protect us for longer than others, esp those with federally funded health care.
I got a TDAP booster last year when I got my flu and Covid shots. I also got MMR a few years ago and that was when I learned my mother forgot to take me for the second shot when I was a baby. Which explained why I got rubella as a toddler and mumps at 16.
Not judging her here - she was an overwhelmed 22 year old with a baby. Everyone should check their records and get a booster if needed - a bunch of my middle aged friends in the UK got whooping cough last year.
You can. You can contact your doctor's office or your local health department.
Anyone can do this and you can wash your hands, mask up and educate your community to do the same. Herd immunity and our public health practices/culture is *vital.*
I am planning to try to get a Polio booster. My last one was 60 years ago, and who knows whether it will still give me enough protection? Also another Covid shot, my last one was 4 months ago...
Pfizer is the largest & most Evil Criminal Organization in human history & responsible for 100's of millions of needless deaths based on ONLY Lies about the Safety & Effectiveness of Vaccines. NO ONE has ever been cured of anything by taking a potentially harmful pill or getting Jabbed with a Poison
Just did this a few weeks ago… You can also get a blood test to confirm whether your previous vaccines are still doing the miraculous work they’re meant to do.
I asked my dic about getting shingles shot a few months early because I had a horrific case of chicken pox (at 17)...she said ask insurance, wouldn't assist at all. We are so screwed.
I've been doing it since the election as I don't have records for most of the childhood ones. The doc can also run titers to check your immunity for certain things. My friend found measles and whooping cough were both low. CVS has pretty much everything for free for non-Kaiser insurance plans.

Now antibodies have been legally defined as woke fiction/sex groomers, so I’ll probably never catch up.
