Gotta give Bondi credit here. It’s clear she knows the DOJ Manual’s principles of federal prosecution inside-out and backwards, because she’s obviously trying to violate every single section and subsection of them.

I am so over the media's framing of these kinds of issues. Who effing cares if the Trump administration wants to "make" Canada a state? The correct framing here is: "Is the United States' position that it will no longer be adhere to international law when it comes to Canada?"

This is your regular reminder that executive orders are not royal decrees. Because America has no king.

These are the proactive steps states need to be taking right now. Another thing: every Democratic governor needs to have a sit-down now with the state adjutant general to carefully review that person's understanding of their responsibilities to their state, its citizens and the federal constitution.

In Pope Francis’s last public address, he preached care of the marginalized, the vulnerable, and migrants, saying: “I would like all of us to hope anew and to revive our trust in others, including those who are different than ourselves.” May we heed his wish.

Wow. Just wait until Kristi Noem finds out about this bc carrying large amounts of cash is something for which she'll send people to a concentration camp.

This Hegseth thing is funny and all — but the unprecedented incompetence, frivolity, and treachery of the entire cabinet puts us all at very real risk.

Last week, DHS and Secretary Noem's staff and spokespeople suggested that because Mr. Abrego Garcia had $1,100 in cash on him when arrested outside Home Depot seeking day labor, that was strong evidence that he was a member of MS-13. I guess that raises a similar question about her $3,000.

Reported earlier today that a new DOGEr, Roland Tenglong Shen, who works at Thiel-backed payments company Ramp, is now at Treasury's central payments hub. A request for comment through LinkedIn went unanswered and now Shen's LinkedIn profile has disappeared. talkingpointsmemo.com/edblog/rampi...

What an utterly ludicrous claim by the @nytimes.com Left: NYT Right: Reality

Oh dear you’re going to want to read this. Looks like DOGErs were caught exfiltrating NLRB data, likely on unions, for private (seemingly Elony) use. This is must read. What we’ve all suspected. But now details. www.npr.org/2025/04/15/n...

Are you a woman who changed your name when you got married? Congress is considering a bill that could make it much harder for you to vote. Call your rep—this is not a drill. indivisible.org/resource/cal...

There are some people on this site who don’t think anyone should be experiencing joy right now due to Trump facism. Baby, joy is resistance. If we don’t feel moments of joy then we become completely demoralized, and then we’re incapable of fighting. Which is what they want.

Not one reporter asked about the Executive Orders targeting Chris Krebs & Miles Taylor during today’s Cabinet press conference. Not one. A president using DOJ to punish those who spoke out? That’s banana republic territory. I waited. The question never came. Why? Has the fear already taken hold?

The President’s unprecedented Executive Order yesterday targeting Messrs. Chris Krebs and Miles Taylor for nothing but the exercise of their First Amendment rights is the President’s most constitutionally corrupt Executive Order to date.

Hi, I'm the guy who wrote the book "Administrative Burdens" and it's just objectively untrue that no one will face "unnecessary burdens" b/c *non-citizens almost never vote! *About 20M citizens don't have access to citizenship documents SAVE solves a non-problem by burdening American citizens.

More than $3 million in damage done to the US Capitol because of these 1/6 insurrectionists and THEY are owed a refund?!

in so much news coverage there’s still this sense of propriety and decorum in the face of an outright assault on our civil and human rights. i just want to remind journalists that your politeness will not save you—so you might as well say what you really mean.

Fear has a way of being contagious. But courage is also contagious.

As Trump tanks the economy, he knows he and his billionaire buddies will be fine no matter what. If you and your family have more to lose, make sure your member of Congress hears from you. www.huffpost.com/entry/financ...

To all the members of Congress whining and hand-wringing about Trump’s tariffs: You delegated the power to him by legislation. Take it back. “The Congress shall have Power To lay and collect Taxes, Duties, Imposts and Excises” is the first power of Congress in Article One, Section Eight.

When I hear young Democrats speak, even prominent ones, it seems they've unknowingly accepted the maga renaming of what used to be called the Democratic Party. It's not the fucking "Democrat" party. That was a dig. An insult from the GOP meant to imply we weren't democratic. Stop using it.

Stop using a term created by Rush Limbaugh. @nbcnews.com's Marissa Para just did it over and over again. It's the Democratic Party, not the "democrat party."

Hi, BlueSky. It's Hillary. I've joined up here to help get the word out about an important election in Wisconsin tomorrow, and other ways to defend our democracy against those who think votes can be bought.

If they’re sharing highly classified military plans over Signal while some of the folks on the thread are overseas, what *else* are they doing?

The Times has to issue a correction here. An Executive order can’t “require” any such thing. Calling it ‘an aggressive push to catch” fraud is bad editorial judgment. The first part is demonstrably false. Those who have any voice to the Times need to demand this. Might as well say pigs fly.

It’s worth stating this simply: For literally anyone in the US Govt from 1945 to 2025, Signalgate would require an instant resignation—and a criminal investigation. It would be a matter of personal *honor* to resign. The fact Mike Waltz & Pete Hegseth are choosing to fight it out is a terrible omen.

The most obvious lesson to draw from the leaked Signal chat is that these people really are morons. It's not a public act, it's not a schtick, there's not some secret back room where they drop the facade. They are genuinely stupid, incompetent people.

Maybe we shouldn't have deleted those Navajo Code Talkers from the Defense Department after all.

I’m old enough to remember when Secretary Hegseth tried to publicly mock Judge Reyes—suggesting that she didn’t know what she was doing when it comes to protecting our national security. It was … two days ago.

I would like some assurance that the “VP” Hegseth is referring to is not Vladimir Putin.

I would like to nominate Maxwell Smart for national security advisor.
