Absolutely. The air traffic controllers need to talk to us, publicly, about how overworked and short staffed they are, and the ones who set them up to fail like this need to lose everything and go to jail for life. Enough lives have been lost.

I also like to track the larger, long-haul jets. I have raced outside to see the Air New Zealand flight to Auckland go over with the All Blacks livery.

Looks like they're ok, thanks to quick action by Southwest Airlines pilots. 😃 Firing FAA employees is unwise, because they are already under-staffed. Plus making the current employees stressed out about whether they will be fired soon makes them more likely to be distracted and make a mistake.

I know this is serious but it makes me think of my MeMe. In 1982 she got lost and when I looked up from a map she had us barreling down a runway at DFW.
I will never forget the panic and embarrassment I felt. She took it in stride and we miraculously got out without an incident.

Bear in mind: Pilots are directed by air traffic control. The smaller plane in the path of the southwest plane is the fault of ATC, not the pilot.

Ground traffic control in fact told the Learjet to hold short of the central runway. Its pilot ignored the instructions. He is totally responsible for the incident.

This is strange. Why was someone recording this? It looks like cell phone video more than security camera footage. A plane landing is not noteworthy (yet). You don’t know this is going to happen before it happens.
My husband and I were just talking about the hate we feel this afternoon, too. I've disliked some of the men who've been POTUS in my lifetime, but I've never had such a visceral reaction to even the ones I considered unfit for the job.
I hate them for what they're doing to us as a country and for the willful destruction of our international reputation. My family and I were briefly stationed in France as part of NATO, and it grieves me that we're no longer seen as worthy of trust by our European allies.
They practice this. I was on a plane that did this once because our plane didn’t touchdown early enough, they had to take back off again and told us they’ll try again. Honestly it’s kind of scary when if happened because we didn’t know what was going on. But thank goodness they do practice this.
A go around is a basic maneuver students pilots learn. Pretty sure it didn’t even raise the pulse rate of the two SW pilots who handled it as they train to do.

I have seen more go-arounds in the last 3 weeks than the previous 3 months.
Some get to less than 800 ft and go around for whatever.
I also saw a jet being 'forgotten' staying at low altitude on a less than good heading do a tight loop...
It flew over my house at less than 4000 ft which is unusual and why I pulled the application up to see what was going on.
