Reading the original novelization of GODZILLA, written in 1955 by screenwriter Shigeru Kayama but not translated until 2023. It’s mostly a faithful adaptation of the film, save for a subplot about a “Tokyo Godzilla Society” cult, and I can’t help but think of the traction this would gain today IRL.
