MASTERPIECE SONG OF THE SUMMER JUST DROPPED.

Repost with the first album you bought with your own money. (I feel like this is going to be a theme with this prompt.)

A film that takes place where you're from. (It is widely believed that Lovecraft modeled Dunwich after Athol, Massachusetts, which is one town over from where I grew up!)

Every time TWISTER is on TV there are at least three great actors I have no memory of being in it.

The heartbreak of realizing a DVD you’ve had on your shelf for years is full frame ☹️

Review to come, but holy shit SINNERS fucking rules you guys.

Update: We’re staying at the Godzilla head hotel (because why bother with half measures), and it turns out we’ll be there for their tenth anniversary, and OH MY GOD?!?!?!

Have critics and editors in other markets found that Disney has gotten MUCH more strict/stingy in their press screening invites over the last couple of months?

News is awful Post Godzilla

Massachusetts folk hero.

I learned a while back that I am one day younger than Katy Perry, and have ever since considered her my own personal Portrait of Dorian Gray. As long as she’s being sold as youthful and vivacious, so am I.

Just a guy making sure he looks presentable.

STREET FIGHTER II should have had a French fighter modeled after Jean Paul Belmondo.

Reading the original novelization of GODZILLA, written in 1955 by screenwriter Shigeru Kayama but not translated until 2023. It’s mostly a faithful adaptation of the film, save for a subplot about a “Tokyo Godzilla Society” cult, and I can’t help but think of the traction this would gain today IRL.

Repost with an image of your favorite James Bond (wrong answers only)

“The Eye Doesn’t Lie” from DOCUMENTARY NOW is, for my money, a perfect half-hour of TV comedy, and I return to it at least once a year.

This is actually an interesting question: how many Netflix films have you watched more than once? For me it’s THE IRISHMAN and BUSTER SCRUGGS, and… that might be it?

Imagine being as bad at your job as this guy demonstrably is at his and still having access to the “give yourself a raise” button.

This week in @bostonhassle.bsky.social I reviewed SECRET MALL APARTMENT, the delightful— and surprisingly inspiring— documentary about a world-class stunt. Catch it at the Somerville! bostonhassle.com/review-secre...

I’ve fallen out of the concertgoing habit in recent years, but I’ve currently got tickets for three of my very favorite artists in the world lined up for the summer, and it makes me very happy to periodically remember I have them to look forward to 🙂

Sparks tickets acquired!!

Didn’t they make that last year with Dennis Quaid?

I just realized I forgot to post this perfect picture of Pye from last weekend.

When they invent the time machine my first stop will be 2072 to kill the first person who colorizes ERASERHEAD when it falls into the public domain.

New on @cambridgeday.bsky.social! Week 2 of Wicked Queer, plus rare Yugoslav and Japanese cinema at the HFA, a whole mess of Lynch (including DUNE on 70mm!), and @oldfilmsflicker.bsky.social at @brattletheatre.bsky.social!

I know it’s far from the top of the list, but it’s kinda baffling Democratic leadership hasn’t appropriated “They hate our freedoms” as a slogan.

Well at least there’s this!!
