Sent this to a pilot friend, he says a straight shot would avoid A51 and be fine.

There would be a spot you need to fly around in NM though.

Main reason the flight is directed this way would be for wind speed/conditions (saves $ in fuel) and to avoid busy airspace like LV, Roswell, etc.

If I've drawn the line correctly, it runs through the White Sands missile range. You would also fly right by Mt. Whitney and its surrounding range, which I'm guessing is not ideal.

You'd be told off by the ATC (and then prob tailed by jets) for a long while before being shot out of air came up I imagine, but yeah, restricted airspace is restricted airspace (but only part of that area is fully restricted according to some replies).
