I wish there were more critical conversations about community accountability & non-local Indigenous people taking up space/speaking over local Indigenous people.

It's disheartening and a bit soul-crushing. Racism, pretendianism, those are frustrating, but this feels like betrayal. /3
I think academia sticks out for me because there's the issue of being in a position of authority on knowledge & truth.
There's also a kind of comradery in dealing with institutional racism, so it hits hard when that's betrayed.
