The only senator that was able to hold republican senator's feet to the fire, cancelled by senator Kirsten Gillibrand. We wouldn't be where we are right now if
Franken was still in the senate imho, Thanks Kirsten
He wasn't even cancelled either! He wasn't actually told to resign, he did so of his own volition when told there would be an investigation into the claims being made.
100% on all that. I loved Franken. The story was reshaped around it being a plot, when, so far, nine women have come forward with a variety of stories. He could have accepted blame, apologized, and worked towards amends. He couldn’t accept his own actions—even though he chose to resign.
I was like idk about this but then I went home and there was someone IN MY HOUSE who was like yeah he was creepy and came home from Harvard and chased me across the roof of a car at a drive-in trying to make out with me.
It’s incredible—particularly with that terrible New Yorker story—how many people today cast this as “the party turned on Franken” instead of “Franken chose to resign rather than face an investigation or admit to the allegations.”
Uh huh. What exactly would this one super special guy have done to prevent everything that’s happened since he resigned? Did he have some dirt on Manchin and Sinema that no one knows about?
tina smith is the lightest of lightweights. policy depends on votes, what I am speaking of is that
Franken is truly a fighter for democracy, and could piss off the republicans and make them sweat. The fact that he was forced to resign bc of a photo of him pretending to
feel up a co-worker is inane
She is as good as or better on Franken on policy, unsure what you're talking about. Thinking that delivering sick burns during senate committees does anything to electoral outcomes is why we're here, not protecting molestors.
