Seems to me what’s happening is the Israeli government got what it wanted and is therefore relieving the pressure it deliberately put on our domestic politics. Pretty ridiculous to give any US politician credit for that.

It's actually very frustrating that instead of giving Biden credit for the hostage deal, everyone will just say "well this is Trump pulling an Iranian hostage crisis." Maybe it is, maybe it isn't, but don't assign credit where it isn't deserved.

Like Reagan with Khomeini in Iran in 1980. Or Kissinger and Anna Chan Chennault with the Vietcong in Paris in 1968.
The bigger point re the pressure on US politics, that's the context for all of it.
(I approve of the deal, thought it should have been weeks ago)
More sentiments, more forced relocations, and maybe they'll sell some of Gaza to real estate developers like Jared Kushner
