JUST IN: The Pentagon has issued its formal guidance for currently serving transgender members of the military.

It says they will be separated from service unless they obtain a waiver meeting these criteria:

Questioning trans ideology is not "denying another person's identity." I do not deny that you identify as a woman. I just don't believe that TRAs have offered an argument as to how that makes you woman any more than my identifying as Napoleon makes me Napoleon.

It’s still a cruel policy intended not to cover anybody, but it’s slightly less baffling when you know that “gender transitioning” in the military meant “making a gender transition plan with your doctor and submitting a gender transition request to your commanding officer”, not “coming out as trans”
